Numerous products are available on the market designed to soften earwax; however, olive oil remains the most effective option. It is cost-effective, easily accessible, and provides a gentle solution that is suitable for the sensitive skin of the ear canal.
For best results apply oil for 3 days prior to ear appoinment.
Ear oil Procedure;
- First, tilt your head to one side and gently pull the outer ear backwards and upwards.
- Administer two to three drops of olive oil into the ear canal. Room temperature is fine.
- Maintain the head-tilted position for a few minutes to allow absorption of the oil.
- Return to an upright position and carefully wipe away any excess oil that may have escaped from the ear. Dont use cotton wool, as it absorbs the olive oil rather than allowing it to soak into the earwax.
- Repeat this procedure for the other ear, even if only one ear appears to be obstructed.
